  2. Samantha, I could relate to so much of what you said in the early weeks/months despite our husbands deaths been very different. Firstly, how do I tell my children that there father is dead and secondly, the first few weeks are hard emotionally, but it gets harder and you want to push the fast forward button. I have 4 children aged 11-19 and my husband and the father of my children took his life unexpectedly on 16 September 2010.

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you tell your children. I was very direct with my oldest son who was 8 at the time. My youngest was 2 and couldn’t bring myself to tell him. I wanted someone to feel a little “normal” at the time. I ended up walking into the room when my oldest son was describing to my youngest what happened to Daddy. That was hard to swallow.

I think that the Widowed Blog Hop is a fabulous way to connect those who have lost a loved one and I am SO happy to share this resource with my Inspire Me Monday community at Create With Joy!

I would like to you and your readers to connect with us. I look forward to getting to know you and wish you the most blessed of holiday seasons!
