I am an author, recent widow and a mother to two young boys. I am a member of the MADD organization and have presented material to law enforcement peer support groups working with families during a tragedy. I also participate in trauma training and provide support to fellow widows and organizations.
I grew up in a small town in Iowa and now live in the Southwest with my two children.
I have created this blog to reach out to widows that are searching for any knowledge to help them through their tragedy. I can only share what my experiences have been since September 2nd, 2010 when my husband was killed in the line of duty.
I hope to provide any type of support to you or answer any questions that you may have. It can feel as though you are alone, but I want you to know you are not. I cannot say my experience is the same as yours. What I can say is that we have one thing in common and that is the loss of our spouse.
I also would like to answer any questions those of you might have that are trying to support a widow/widower and those of you that might just be plain curious. I encourage anyone that has a question, to email me at email@example.com or post a comment on my blog if you want to be anonymous.
